Bald has always been associated with the loss of hair. Most people will resort to shaving off their crown of glory once the sign of age starts to show. But hey!! Who would have guessed? 1. Alex Louis Armstrong (Full Metal Alchemist)
Despite being bald (almost), Armstrong never misses a chance to show off his muscular physique and beautiful body. He is usually seen to take off his shirt in front of the Elric brothers and when he is battling. Hmmm.. I guess he trains his body welll in order to make up for the lack of a certain element up there

2. Tenshinhan (Dragon Ball)
A disciple of Tsuru-sennin, Kame sennin’s rival, Tenshinhan is famous for his three eyes and solar flare. Tenshinhan is undoubtedly Gokou’s trustworthy friend and a good Z fighter. Furthermore, he’s good looking… well towards the end of the series anyway, when Toriyama’s art has improved.

3. Madarame Ikkaku (Bleach)
Here’s someone who’s very conscious of his baldness – Ikkaku. He is often teased for his empty crown and nicknamed “pachinko head”. As a result of the constant ridicule he gets, Ikkaku is very self-conscious about his baldness, to the point where he will threaten anyone that points it out. However one thing good does come out of his baldness – Ikkaku’s bald scalp is reflective, serving as a useful “weapon”.

4. Yasushi Takagi (Nana)
He plays percussion and is the leader of Blast, usually handling the business partnerships and financial decisions needed for the band’s success. He smokes and is also a lawyer in training. What’s more, he shaves himself bald because he looks cooler that way with his dark glasses and numerous earings! That’s what makes him a ladies’ man!

5. Piccolo (Dragon Ball)
Now… Dragon Ball does have a lot of baldies. But none is more distinctive than Piccolo! He was Gokou’s enemy, is Gokou’s comrade in battle and bacame Gohan’s master. He’s powerful, he’s wise, he’s green, he’s an alien and most importantly he’s BALD!! And he’s good looking too, for alien and Dragon Ball standard

Ever wonder how characters from anime always have hairstyles that can defy gravity (without using gels and mousse!!)? Yes.. it’s mind boggling. I tried copying Gokou’s hairstyle but it was a complete disaster. Not only was my hand full of gooey gel, my hair played along with gravity. It was down in less than 30 minutes. Sad…

Today, I present to you the most outrageous hairstyle I can find from the realms of animation. Moreover, I have also dug out their gravity defying secrets. Enjoy!

1. Son Gokou (Dragon Ball)
Gokou is the man! He saves the earth countless number of times and fights countless number of battles. Yet…. his hair has never obeyed the law of gravity, no matter how battered up he is. When he’s in his Super Saiyan stage, it’s even more of a mystery. What is his secret?

Gokou’s secret: “Huh! What secret? You mean my hair is not normal? It has always been like this, so I guess there’s no secret.” Kartun went away, disappointed…

2. Vegeta (Dragon Ball)
Everybody loves Vegeta (well almost…) and everybody ponders on the miracle of the hair gel he uses. In fact, he has one of the most outrageous and gravity defying hairstyle in the anime universe. It is even more evident when he turns to Super Saiyan. Just what is Vegeta’s secret? Let us find out!

Vegeta’s secret: “Grrrr.. What secret? It’s a secret, so it’s mine to keep! Now, bug off!!” Kartun was scared out of her wits and ran away as fast as she could!

3. Ryuu Uemiya (Shaman King)
Ah.. the famous cyclone hairstyle. Ryuu’s hair is the highlight of Shaman King. Everytime I watch this series, I’m always filled with anticipation for his ever changing outrageous hair. Thus, I wasted no time to learn his secret.

Ryuu’s secret: “Wah! You wanna learn my secret? You have to be prepared to listen. No .1, make sure your hair has luster – use conditioner, use all the hair enhancing shampoo, use hair protein. No. 2, buy a branded excellent hair dryer. Not just good, must be excellent. No.3, make sure you spend at least 2 hours doing your hair before you let anyone see you. The key is to use the hair dryer. No.4, use cream, no gel, no mousse. You wanna know which hair cream I use? How about my body? Do you also wanna know how I ……” Kartun fell asleep at this point. Oops!

4. Kakashi Hatake (Naruto)
Yes, it’ the man of mystery… Naruto’s own handsome (subject to agreement) sensei. Yes, we want to know how he maintains his outrageous hairstyle, even when he fights and swims. His secret? Let us find out.

Kakashi’s secret: “It’s all in the Chakra – the way your ki flows. I let my Chakra flow to my hair. And of course, I read Icha Icha Paradise, Icha Icha Violence and Icha Icha Tactics. Read them, and you’ll learn the secret!” Kartun was flabbergasted and had nothing to say.

5. Akimichi Choji (Naruto)
Besides being capable of turning into a ball and roll, Choji also stands out because of his outrageous hair. On top of that, it makes him adorable (in Kartun’s opinion). I have no doubt that he will make a good ninja. Does he really use his underwear to hold his hair? I approached him to learn his secret, while he was busy gobbling down his ramen.

Choji’s secret: “Hmmm.. munch munch (he was swallowing his food)… No, that’s not my underwear on my head! You want some food? Another bowl please!” Kartun was pushed away as Choji continued with filling his alimentary canal.

6. Yugi (Yugioh)
He’s good at his games, he’s young, he’s handsome, he’s … got outrageous hair! How does he get the hair that attracts all the girls? Did he dye his hair or is it natural? Oh.. what is his secret? We’d love to know.

Yugi’s secret: “It’s all in the genes! When you have it you have it. If you don’t have it, don’t bother!” =_=;

7. Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Who can forget the litle midget that sparks a black fire dragon? Come to think of it, his hairstyle is almost as outrageous as Vegeta’s. But since I can’t get anything out of Vegeta, I try to dig the secret out of Hiei.

Hiei’s secret: “Jaou Ensatsu Kokuryuuha!!!!!!!!!!” Kartun was seriously injured after getting a direct hit from Hiei

Who wouldn’t want to be a millionaire? Have you ever envied those who made it to the fortune 500? We at kartun.com certainly have. Being so set to become millionaires ourselves, we sent our reporter (Kartun #1) to interview one of the youngest multi-millionaire known in the history of anime and cartoons – Trunks! Not only that, we managed to interview three (yes 3!) different Trunks from different times. All thanks to the time machine that his mom has invented

Here’s how the interview went:

1. Interview with 8 year old Trunks

Kartun #1: Hallo Chibi Trunks! It’s very nice of you to do this interview with me

Chibi Trunks: No worry… I have lots of time!

Kartun #1: Ok.. Haha.. How I wish I can say that. So… what’s your secret to becoming a millionaire at just 8 years old?

(At this point of time, Chibi Trunks started to get cocky)

Kartun #1 was flabbergasted with the number of toys Chibi Trunks took out! She was stuck with him for hours before she could go on with her interview with the second Trunks…

2. Interview with 18 year old Trunks

Trunks: Hallo everyone! I am Trunks, heir to Capsule Corporation soon.. I am also handsome and loaded with money (grinning widely)

Kartun #1: (Cough..) Hello Trunks! Before we begin, I just want you to know that it’s a great pleasure to have you here with me today.

Trunks: Hey! Don’t mention it! I don’t mind interviews at all. So what do you wanna know?

Kartun #1: Hmm… thanks! I understand that at 18, you already have a fortune with you. So what is your secret to becoming a millionaire?

Kartun #1 received some flying kicks and punches that naked eyes could not detect. Arghhhhh…….. =_=;

3. Interview with 28 year old Trunks

Kartun #1 was stunned the moment Trunks walked into the interview room. I think we all know the reason why @_@

Trunks: (Waving his hand in front of Kartun #1′s face) Are you ok?

Kartun #1: Yeee… sss… .Er… Ya…. Oh…. Hmmm.. (stammering because of nervousness sitting in front of such a handsome man)

Trunks: Are you really ok?

Kartun #1: (Composing herself and trying to look good despite the ‘black’ eye) Yea… Erm… Oh.. Thanks for being here for this interview. I know how busy you are, being the president of Capsule Corporation and all.

Trunks: No problem. I always appreciate time off no matter how busy I am.

Kartun #1: Let’s not waste your precious time then… So Trunks, we are all very interested in how you manage to acquire such a fortune at a young age. Can you please tell us the secret? (Yes! kartun #1 got her professionalism back

The manga that I posted a few days ago (on 1st Nov) was part of Mirei’s work on something called ‘Dakara’. She refused to let me know the content. All she let out is that it is a fanfic-art. I’m quite sad as she told me that she won’t be continuing with that piece of work… Why? It’s excellent

Cartooning style took a twist during the 90s. Gone were the robots and creatures from outer space. Instead, we witnessed more humour, more ridiculous slapstick plots (if any) that tickled our funny bones. We at kartun.com will now present you the 8 most ridiculous cartoons from the 90s, in random order.

1. Earthworm Jim – 1994
An earthworm that can tun into a superhero. Imagine… an earthworm, a sticky slimy creepy crawly turning into a macho being that fights…. Hmmm.. Jim was just an ordinary earthworm who did very earthworm-like things such as flee from crows and eat dirt. One day, a power suit dropped to Earth and fell on Jim. By a stroke of luck, Jim managed to land within the collar of the suit, and it ended up mutating him into the large and intelligent (at least by earthworm standards) superhero.

2. Attack of the killer tomatoes – 1990
Tomatoes that attack human being? Ridiculous! The series is based on Return Of The Killer Tomatoes movie. Dr. Putrid T. Gangreen wanted to rule the world. He created Tara Boumdeay, a tomato turned human but she ran away from Gangreen, taking with her ‘Brother’ the fur-covered F.T. with her. They befriended Chad Finletterwho later got Tara a job at his uncle Wilbur’s Tomatoless Pizza Parlor.

3. Two stupid dogs – 1993
As the name suggests, this cartoon is about two stupid dogs, Big Dog (a sheepdog) and Small Dog (a Dachshund)and their misadventures. The episodes usually do not have any plots. Instead they focus on humour and stupid things that the 2 stupid dogs do. For example, when the Small dog gets excited, a signature tune plays in the background, and he jumps around dancing and singing something that sounds like a tune. La la la…

4. Pinky and the Brain – 1995
This is what happens when you’ve been performing too many genetic experiments on mice – they mutate and plan to take over the world!! Argh!!! Pinky and Brain are genetically enhanced lab mice who reside in a cage in the Acme Labs research facility. In each episode, Brain devises a new plan for them to conquer the world. But the plan always ends in failure. The cartoon’s famous tagline is:

Pinky: “Gee Brain, what do you want to do tonight?”
The Brain: “The same thing we do every night, Pinky – Try to take over the world!”

5. Cow and Chicken – 1997
This has got to be one of the most ridiculous cartoons I have ever seen. Despite the difference in looks and genetic makeup, Cow and Chicken are siblings, with erm… human parents! Cow is a 7 year old female, with a pea sized brain and humongous udder. She has an alter-ego, Supercow. Chicken, on the other hand, is mean, conceited and constantly makes fun of Cow. Be warned: The series often uses violence; Cow and Chicken were frequently placed in dangerous situations and the Red Guy was frequently pummelled and beaten by Supercow. “Udderly” ridiculous..

6. Dexter’s laboratory – 1996
This has got to be one of my favourites! Dexter is a boy genius (only 7 years old) who has a secret laboratory filled with highly advanced equipment, hidden behind a bookshelf in his bedroom. Access to this never-ending laboratory is achieved by saying various passwords or by activating hidden switches on the bookcase. The fun part to this cartoon is that Dexter always argue with his obnoxious older sister, Dee Dee, who delights in playing in her brother’s lab, often destroying his inventions and creations.

7. Johnny Bravo – 1995
What do you get when you cross James Dean, Elvis Presley and 2 stupid dogs? Well.. can’t guess? Johnny Bravo of course! Johnny is a boorish skirt-chasing character constantly searching for a woman willing to date him. To top that he’s incredibly narcissistic and is almost jobless (aside being a janitor). Yah.. he sounds like a guy that you will never date… poor Johnny

8. Ths Simpsons – Dec 17 1989 (Hey, it’s 14 days to 1990)
This has got to be the most ridiculous yet successful cartoons of all time. How else could it have lasted until now? Moreover, it has even released a movie this year (2007) and it was a blockbuster hit. I don’t think you need any further introduction to The Simpsons.
